William Slaughter — Author

SlaughterWilliam W. Slaughter is a photo historian and the senior archivist at the LDS Church History Library. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in library science from Brigham Young University. His other publications include Joseph Smith’s America: His Life and Times; How We Got the Doctrine and Covenants; 40 Ways to Look at Brigham Young: A New Approach to a Remarkable Man; How We Got the Book of Mormon; Trail of Hope: The Story of the Mormon Trail; Life In Zion: An Intimate Look at the Latter-day Saints, 1820-1995; and Camping Out in the Yellowstone, 1882. He and his wife, Sheri, and their two adult children, live in Salt Lake City.
